Sculpture today is a broad sphere of exploration – the subject, forms, and new solutions. Exploring the decks of possibility, succumbing to the modern media-driven race trends, artists often create tortuous ideologies, which often leads them to lose their way in their own art. Paweł Chlebek gives to us on a tray not a body, but its fragments: breasts, which have been granted autonomy, a gigantic buttocks belonging to no one, grimaced lips. …Looking at these works, strolling among these lonely attributes of human sexuality, something starts to bother. It turns out that the context which allows reading of the breast, stomach, mouth in sexual terms, for many of us, though of course not all is a human. Created a situation in which the recipient has only to imagine a person, but before that happens, realize the lack of the person. It is harder for the person to feel this in the case of the materialistic recognition by mass culture, since the reduction of people is less radical, we get the illusion of satisfaction, rather than the presence of what we are really lacking is of no concern. Exposing illusoriness representations of mass culture, rather than struggle with the fact that people no longer need feelings, is one of the characteristics of the exposition “Erotica”. … Read more
